Majestic Eagle Series – #1

Americans cherish the bald eagle as their proud symbol of freedom. The eagle became our national emblem in 1782 when the Great Seal of the United States was adopted. Depicted with its outstretched wings and facing front, we also find this majestic bird on our coins and paper money.

When we spotted some wild bald eagles on our recent trip to see grizzly bears in British Columbia, Canada, it was an added bonus. They were perched high up in the trees along the river banks and flew overhead. I had to be extra quick with my camera for their aerial appearances. They flew by in an instant! And photographing these beautiful creatures from a moving boat was also a challenge. Sadly, most of my pictures did not turn out well. However, a precious few of them did!

Here is the first of six of my bald eagle images that I will be posting over the next week or so.

  2. We see them around here since there's a few nests but I've yet to get a picture I'm satisfied with. Great shot!

  6. Oh man! That is gorgeous. My husband loves bald eagles. Once and awhile he actually sees them at the cape.

I can't wait to see the rest.

  10. We're fortunate that we can see the occasional eagle here in our part of Arkansas. They're such beautiful predatory birds.
