New Dining Room Table and Chairs

A couple of weeks ago, I promised to show you some photos of our new dining room set of table and chairs. Promise kept! These photos were taken with a very wide-angle zoom lens, and I didn’t go into editing gyrations to fix any distortions. So please ignore the wonky perspective.

The set is made from solid quarter-sawed oak and made in Ohio Amish country. If I had to describe the style, I would say that it is a modernized mix of craftsman and shaker. The furniture line is called Palettes by Winesburg, and our chosen set is one of several styles that the company offers.

We adore how it looks in the room with our antique pieces. The chairs are ruggedly heavy but extremely comfortable. There is an extension piece to the table (not shown) that cleverly stores underneath the surface. We didn’t have enough felt pads for the bottoms of two of the chairs when I did this photo shoot. But they are on there now to minimize scuffing of the wood floor.

We are so glad to finally find what we had in mind!

P.S. Thank you for all of the inquiries, thoughts, and prayers. My aches and pains are easing a bit now. Progress has been slow, but in the right direction.

  2. Love, love your dining room. The new dining table and chairs are so nice and the colours of them go well with your antique pieces, which are gorgeous btw! I like the wainscotting and the 'pillars' in the entry ways. It's a very beautiful room! Don't you wish they'd make those felts in a colour to blend in with the floor and furniture?
