Once again, it’s time for Vee’s monthly note card party!
This time last year, we visited Lexington, Kentucky, to see the spring thoroughbred races at Keeneland racetrack. After enjoying a few days at the track, we decided to do some “freestyle” photography around the horse farms in the area before heading home. While I was taking photos of some beautiful horses out in the countryside, the owner of one of the horse breeding farms stopped by and invited us back to his place for an impromptu photo shoot of his new spring foals! Talk about lady luck shining on us!
Below are a few of the images I snapped of these beautiful creatures. These would make great note cards for animal lover.

You can read about our adventure HERE. It was quite an honor and rare treat to see these fabulous thoroughbred ponies up close. The animals are quite valuable, selling for several hundred thousand dollars apiece. Who knows, we may see them again in a couple more years, thundering down a racetrack like the Kentucky Derby! After our visit, we surprised the horse farm owner with a gift of photo enlargements to repay his kindness us. We got a lovely thank you letter back, and the owner noted that they were delighted with the prints. He said we were welcomed to come back to visit any time. We hope to do so next year.
These note card parties are such fun! I hope you will have time to stop by A Haven for Vee and visit with her other participants!
