For the Birds (and My Amusement)

Mr. Jim surprised me with a little gift this week. I guess he knew that I’ve been going through hummingbird withdrawal, now that they have gone south for the winter.

This egg carton contains a dozen birdseed "eggs" with jute hangers. Aren’t they cute? The little window hook is back up on my office window and one of the eggs is waiting to be discovered.

Come and get it, tweeters!

  3. Are they seed-wrapped suet? Or solid seed all the way through? Great idea, either way...

  5. Cute! We used to take stale bagels, covered in peanut butter and rolled in bird seed and hang on the trees in winter

  6. What a sweetie he is! Hope the birds find it soon. It took them about a week to find the suet here. Now it's like a tenemant building in the spruce tree and a constant going back and forth...mostly chickadees and nuthatches.

  16. Fun! We don't dare attract birds with food around here because of the bears, I'm always trying to get good bird photos but they don't stick around long. :) Can't wait to see the photos you get!
