New USB Flash Drive

Media storage devices and files sizes have changed drastically over the past few years. So I finally bit the bullet a month or so ago and replaced my antique 512 MB USB flash drive. It’s eight years old and still works, but its capacity is the pits!

So I hopped on B&H Photo, my favorite online shop for photography and electronics, and searched for a new flash drive. (See sidebar for a link.) Low and behold, I found an adorable one, made to look like a small Swiss Army knife!

I was smitten.

The flash drive is made by SanDisk, which I know is a reliable brand. It will probably outlast me, LOL!

I opted to get a 32 GB model in a hot pink color. Ha-cha-cha-cha!

It doesn’t take much to amuse me…

  3. How cool is that! I use one and at the end of every month, I back up all of my photos on mine. It definitely gives you peace of mind! Yours is cute! Hugs!

  4. What do you want a flash drive for? We have external drives for our back-ups but they are not flash drives. Ours are huge --and hold all of our stuff... Maybe you just wanted something smaller.... I can see how they would help when traveling... And I know that they would be convenient. So--maybe I answered my own question.

    1. It makes it easier to transfer files between DH’s and my computer, and also our laptop (which we use for travel). It is particularly helpful when I need DH to print enlargements of my photos on his big photo printer. The files are too big to send by e-mail.

    2. I have one of these gizmos (not as spiffy as yours) and I have yet to figure out what I can do with it.

  7. I have an external hard drive but have been thinking about getting a flash drive. My external is pretty old and I worry about something going wrong with it and losing everything.

  8. I like your new hot pink accessory Donna. I use several, one for gardening photos, another for my columns, one for PowerPoint presentations and finally one for family photos.

  10. I LOVE it! Somehow I missed this post in all the happenings with us but I think I'd better get one, too. I have several older flash drives and they always frustrate me. And I have things on an older external hard drive. This is the year to FINALLY organize my photos - and the rest of my life. Maybe! Thanks for the inspiration.
