It’s a blast from the past! Here’s a late 1980s photo of my sweet Mom and me. Mr. Jim took the original negative and later scanned a digital copy from a print. I recently restored the image a little bit with Photoshop. I’m now about the same age as Mom at the time of the photo. My, how time passes.
Mom’s health has not been very good the past few years. However, she is doing well at the moment and residing at a wonderful long-term care facility in Indiana. We had originally planned to drive up and see her this spring, but those plans have been temporarily put on the back burner. We hope to make the trip later on this year when Mr. Jim is strong enough to travel.
I’ll be talking with her on the phone later on today and wishing her a happy Mother’s Day. Best wishes to you on this special day!
Oh, I just love this photo, Donna.

ReplyDelete(I had to smile at your sweater! We '80's gals all had one of those, didn't we?) :)
What a sweet photo. You are so lucky to have it.
ReplyDeleteI have no photos of me and mom because I was always the one behind the camera. She is 90 now and struggling to remember. Sending hugs and positive thoughts your way.
Precious! I hope you had a restful Mother's Day and were able to talk with your sweet mom. xoxo
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo of you and your Mom, you both look so happy and close to each other.
ReplyDeleteYou can tell that I'm a bit behind in my blog reading! I loved seeing the photo of you and your mother. And I pray that one of these days you and Jim will be able to visit her and enjoy some time away from the medical world.

I just discovered this post today. What a lovely lady your mother was, as are you, and this is a wonderful photo of the two of you! I smiled when I noticed your sweater. I still have my sweater vest from the 80's with little sheep going across the front of it. *Hugs*
