Autumn Decorations

I’m keeping autumn decorations to a minimum around here.  It’s all about making it easy!  I took these photos over four weeks ago, and I’m finally getting around to posting them.  I figured I better get moving on the task before there is a snowfall, haha.

I bought a stool this summer to compliment the front porch furniture. It is a handy prop for seasonal displays. Mr. Jim picked out the BIG pumpkin.

We’ve had the beautiful swag for a couple of years  It gives a rich pop of color above the front door.

Our decorations were literally plopped together in a few minutes.  I won the white pumpkin in a bloggy giveaway a few years ago.  I think the leaves were included too, but my memory has gotten foggy on that detail.

The hobnail glass jar originally held a bouquet of sunflowers I bought for Mr. Jim during his June hospital stay.  The dried wheat was purchased at Publix.

We get to enjoy the decorations when we head out to sit in our rocking chairs.

We’ve been spending a lot of quality time in the chairs this year, watching the weather and keeping track of activity along our street.  The hummingbird feeder (shown hanging on the window) is now stored away in the garage.  But the geraniums on the little table are still blooming up a storm, despite some cooler temperatures in recent weeks.

Come on by for a visit, and I'll fix you a cup of hot tea or chocolate!

  15. Your minimalistic approach to fall decorating makes a big statement in my book. It looks lovely. I really like the way you used the stool and I have one that I picked up at a yard sale and have been wondering what to do with it. Now you've given me a great idea.
My fall decorations this year consist of a wreath on my front door and a couple silk arrangements on my dining room table

  17. Your porch looks wonderful. My poor porch is quite bare - I haven't had a chance to do much Fall decorating inside my home and my tiny porch has no sign of Fall. Tea or chocolate? What a hard choice. I think I'll join you for chocolate this time, dear friend.
