Photo of the Week - Morning Calm

Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming

When I took this image, I remember that I was mighty cold, bundled up with gloves and a fleece jacket. But the sight before me made it all worthwhile. I gave thanks for being able to see this beauty in person. It is difficult to describe how nature’s tender calm wraps around you in the soft light in the early dawn. And the majesty of Mount Moran provides the ultimate backdrop for the Oxbow Bend of the Snake River. It is easy to see why many consider this National Park as one of the most beautiful places on earth.

  1. Donna, just a fabulous shot with reflections and clouds. Mt.Moran is truly majestic and, as mentioned before, the Tetons will always be favorites in my book!

Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos as always - so happy you are beginning to get out and about again dear.

    Hugs - Mary

  2. I opened your post with anticipation of another beautiful image, and Donna, you did not disappoint. How beautiful. The wreath of cloud around the mountain looks like a delicate scarf wrapping it.The calm water and reflections in the foreground add so much. Stunning work.

  4. I like the way Lorrie described that cloud around the mountain's shoulders like a scarf or a stole. I can imagine that standing there seeing that scene was incrdible.
