Photo of the Week - Road to the Mountains

Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming

Leading lines always give a little zippy interest to a composition, and this road draws a viewer right into the scene. Even on a overcast and rainy day, aren’t those mountains incredible? (Click on the image to see bigger, please.)

I am doing fine but very busy as the moment. Many activities at the church have kept me hopping, along with all of the usual household chores that need attention. My left eye has healed up well from the surgery (to correct double vision), and I don’t have to go back to the doctor until the first week in November.

Please continue to keep me in your prayers as I rebuild my life and establish an improved support network. Dependable and caring local friends are my biggest need. Thankfully, a few people have stepped into my life the past couple of months. But many people have decided not to include me anymore in their everyday lives. I would love to have a friend like me, so I consider it their loss. Angel, my little dog, brings me comfort and joy on a daily basis. And I look for moments of God's grace to sustain me.

  3. You are so right...that road, those lines, lead right up to those incredible mountains. This photo makes me want to know what is just around the bend. I usually pray for you when I find myself here at your Cottage. Today, I am thanking God for His healing touch on your eye and on your life. He Is helping you every step of the way. You are also right that those who don't know how to relate anymore are missing out. Big time. Love to you...

  11. A stunning photo of the mountains Donna. I was just thinking of you this afternoon and wondering how you're doing. Thank you for updating what you've been doing. I pray God will send you a very good friend or two that you can count on. Friends are such an important part of our lives and when they leave us it is a sad and empty feeling. God bless you as you enter into the fall season.

  12. Such great news about your eye healing well Donna dear - makes me so happy.
Many people don't know what they're missing out on by not sharing a friendship with you - wish I lived closer, I think we'd have some good times.

Off to France tomorrow - only taking small camera due to luggage restrictions and several changes of transportation - planes, trains and boats - but hope to get some good pix.
    Love and hugs - Mary

  15. Simply stunning photo.

I am so glad to hear of your eye healing so well, and that you are involved at church, and making new friends. It's sad that people have let your friendship go. It's their loss, but I know that doesn't make it any easier.

Thank you for sharing your talent, and your life with us Donna.

  17. It's been too long since I have been to the Yellowstone/Teton area. I am looking at a train and coach tour for next spring. We used to camp and hike in those mountains but I don't think my old bones could handle that now. I'm so glad your feeling better physically and you are so right to work on developing a support system close to home. Take care my dear. ((Hugs))
