Photo Challenge: The Color Purple

Time for a new Brenda Photo Challenge! The theme is The Color Purple.

The liriope grasses are now blooming in our flowerbeds. Their purple flower stalks begged to be chosen as the center of attention for this challenge. A small, antique milk glass was perfect for complementing the delicate bouquet. I used a mottled paper background for the photo shoot. In Photoshop Elements, I applied a couple of filters to the digital image to give a moody effect. I also cropped it for a pleasing off-center composition. The photo was taken at f/9, 1/60 second, and ISO 800.

  10. Gracious, you gals are giving me a big, fat head today! Haha, you should have seen me set up this shot, with the vase sitting on a metal lawn chair and a piece of scrapbooking paper behind it, and me standing on the porch steps about 8 feet away! Not fancy at all. And a few tweaks in Photoshop - honestly - about 2 minutes worth of playing. Tada, there it is!

I haven't tried to make money with my photo playing, but so far I have had fun making up little greeting cards and sending them off to friends. Thank you for your sweet comments and encouragement!
