Counting the Bears

I have been working on a few more of my bear pictures this Sunday afternoon. Oh my, they are such beautiful creatures!  I know that you are counting the days until the Katmai brown bears series begins.

By happenstance, one of the gals who was on our Alaska trip last year just sent me the link to this video. It shows a field counting and tagging exercise for black bears in Ontario, Canada.  Perhaps this will tide you over a bit.  Enjoy!

I love Rick Mercer. He cracks me up. Thanks for the laugh. I'm sure this procedure is much more serious without him there. Imagine being his teacher.

You are so bad, tempting us with that headline! Cute video, made me laugh. Not something I'll be trying soon.... :) Especially because we have NO SNOW at all and I don't know what our bears are doing. Sleeping under stumps, I suspect.

FINALLY a shovel-ready project!

Bwwaaahhaaa, seriously those cubs are unbearably cute. I'd be kissin' an' lovin' on 'em until they made me stop.

The mama was smaller than I expected! And what soulful eyes! I hope she likes her new collar with extra songs, and I hope she doesn't mind the people-smell on her babies!!!

Now I'm going to share a link to this vid with all my kids. They'll love it.
