One thing is for sure, the coastal brown bears don’t mind getting their fur wet! This bear was snorkeling and briefly brought his head up to have a look around the marshlands.
One beautiful creature was a favorite of mine. I never did learn whether this bear had a nickname, but I suspect that it was a younger female. Most of the time, she basked on a rock in the middle of the river. But she came down to the falls area occasionally. I was able to capture a tender portrait in the turbulent waters right below Brooks Falls.
The bears are quite agile in water and create quit a splash when they run.
This one even did some wading on his hind legs so that he could keep track of other bears along the shoreline.
And I was lucky to catch a perfect side view of this bear while he was fishing in the marsh area. While a circular wave of water surrounded him, a miniature waterfall cascaded off of his chin.
these shots, once again, are just stunningly beautiful! bravo, donna!

ReplyDeleteDonna, I am in absolute awe of your bear photos. My gosh, it looks as though you are standing right next to them (this from one who uses a cheap point & shoot camera)... You should be taking photos for calendars or cards! Spectacular!... Donna
