My friend Janice of the Gypsy Farm Girl blog recently had a giveaway for a copy of Folk magazine. She was celebrating the accomplishment of two dreams: to see the beautiful countryside blooming with the famous Texas bluebonnet blooms, and to be published in a magazine. I had the good fortune of winning the prize!
Janice’s article and photos are presented in the magazine via a two-page spread. And her darling pooch, Trixie, is featured in the very first photo!
The text describes how she has always wanted to see the bluebonnets waving their gorgeous blooms in the spring. With spare time being a precious commodity, she was able to make her dream come true in 2011 by venturing to the Ennis Bluebonnet Trail, a location a closer to home than the Texas Hill Country. She described the trip (including some mechanical troubles with the truck) in posts here, here, and here.
Perhaps I will get to see the blooms personally some day. But if not, then her beautiful photos are the next best thing. Thank you, dear Janice, for the beautiful magazine and the opportunity to celebrate with you! I’m sure proud of you!
this is not far from me, here. thankfully, our front pasture provides a great crop of bluebonnets, too. i am really pleased for janice!

ReplyDeleteHi Donna, I have seen the Texas Bluebonnets (and wildflowers) in bloom in the Hill Country of Texas. When I lived near Houston, we'd travel to see them every April... Gorgeous!!!
