Back Home in Tennessee

Fort Loudoun Reservoir, near Lenoir City, Tennessee

We arrived back home late yesterday. We had a nice visit with my mom and other family members in Indiana. We also had a wonderful time meeting up in Cincinnati with Joan of Joan’s Journeys. Rounding out the trip, we visiting some of Kentucky’s fine bourbon distilleries and enjoyed the thoroughbred horse races at Keeneland. We even experienced some unexpected good fortune yesterday morning in Lexington, thanks to the kindness of a stranger. You can look forward to some interesting photos and stories in the days ahead! It was delightful to get away for a while, and even more so to come home to the comforts of our country cottage.

I see that Marty had a surprise post for you while I was away. The rascal! Since he kept you entertained, I promise not to scold him. The long-awaited retaining wall for the left-front flowerbed also got completed while we were gone. It looks positively handsome. Yes, there will be a photo essay on that little project too.

In the meantime, it’s back to the reality of unpacking, laundry, bill paying, grocery shopping, flower planting, and house cleaning. Downloading my latest photos is on the “to do" list as well, in addition to catching up with all of my blogging friends. I also intend to get reacquainted with my cozy recliner in between the chores!
