Mr. Jim starts his post-op radiation/chemo treatments today. Chemo infusions will be done for three straight days and then repeated in another two weeks. Radiation treatments will be five days a week through December 6 (with Thanksgiving off).
As retirees, we’re not looking forward to the 7:15 a.m. appointments, but that’s the best time we could get for the time being. Luckily, there is a Starbucks in the hospital’s Cancer Institute building, and we have been gifted with some Starbucks gift cards recently. We’re going to need coffee, LOL!
Please continue to keep Mr. Jim in your prayers, requesting that the treatments work and the side effects are negligible. Thank you!
Still praying for you guys. I know this is a long slow road but you'll get through this. You've got tons of support right here in good ol' blog-world. *smile*

The next step of the journey begins...thinking of you both. I guess the next best thing to a cup of tea for comfort could very well be something yummy from Starbucks.
ReplyDeleteHugs and prayers.

Donna, you picked the perfect image for today's post! It's beautiful and uplifting....mountains rising through the clouds ready to start a new day.
ReplyDeleteI'm praying for Mr. Jim daily still. I know what he's facing and I know he will do well with you at his side..........refilling the Starbucks mug and holding his hand! Those early appts. will be a drain on the coffee cards - but just think of the beautiful sunrises you'll view when you're out on the road headed to good health!!
Love you guys - wishing all goes well - keep us updated please.
Hugs - Mary
Have faith, dear friend... and hope and peace. He is under the Lord's watchful care. May you feel the warmth of His love and angels round about you keeping you strong in this journey. You are in my thoughts and in my prayers. :)
ReplyDeleteWe'll definitely be doing that!
ReplyDeletegood luck - to both of you. :)
ReplyDeletei love the layers in that photo... just beautiful.

ReplyDeleteHugs and Prayers,

Prayers for you both. God will hold Jim in the palm of His hand and keep His arm around your shoulder. We just have to keep going forward.
ReplyDeletePrayers for a complete recovery and minimal side effects! Enjoy your coffee!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, we're praying here for excellent results and minimal side effects. Starbucks and some good books sounds like a plan. Don't forget a cozy throw and a comfy pillow.
ReplyDeletePraying for you both Donna. Do hope it all goes well, with minimal side effects.
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping by my blog. Glad you liked the old house, cos that's where I am now living, as part of a retirement village here on the Sunshine Coast. It is only small in bedrooms but plenty large enough for me. I feel privileged to be the new lessee.
Love the cards you printed, Donna. Your photos are always wonderful. And the old barns. It seems a pity to deface the barns with such large advertising though in a way? Were they restoring them and looking after them at the same time? I am about to get into a little bit of historical stuff here, just as soon as I have sorted myself out and my too large pile of possessions. ;-)
That photo is mystical. I reminds me of dragons hiding in the mist.
ReplyDeleteThe prayers continue. I have a small devout prayer group of best friends, here, in Georgia and S. Carolina and Calif. Donna and Mr. Jim are on our list.
Yes, I'm praying here too Donna. God bless you both. Hugs. Pam
ReplyDeletePrayers for Jim, and for you.
ReplyDeleteConstantly have you both on my mind.

ReplyDeleteMy thoughts and prayers are with you and Jim...there are no words to ease the worry of all this for you,,,but lots of love and prayers coming your way.
ReplyDeleteMore prayers coming your way, I am so sorry you guys have to do this! God bless you.
ReplyDeleteStill praying for both of you! Wondering how things are going after the first days of treatment. Starbucks is your friend for these early mornings, my friend. Make good use of those cards and enjoy every sip of coffee - you deserve it!
