Photo of the Week - Garden Bench in the Biltmore Conservatory

Biltmore Estate, Asheville, North Carolina

Isn’t this a lovely spot to rest your weary soul? There’s nothing like beautiful jolts of natural color to warm you up in the winter time!

  1. Was I here already? One of those mornings! Did I say that the poinsettias are gorgeous? Or that the bench with all its beautiful ferns is as well?

  2. That is just gorgeous! I needed that spot of bright color in our totally white landscape. :-) Just look at those poinsettias! I'd like a nice cushion on that bench right now, however. Thanks for the spot of cheering color!

  8. Yes, Donna! I love this bench and I would rest there, too. Lovely. Right on about your mammogram schedule. Cancer sucks and those that don't get it need to be vigilant that they don't get it. Over 200,000 woman in the US last year {2013} got diagnosed with breast cancer. But more and more each year are surviving it's wrath! I'm kick breast cancer in the BUTT!

  12. I spy the ivy JUST starting to clamber over the back of the bench……..I hope they left it and allowed at least some partial twining to soften the ironwork! I have a love/hate thing going with ivy - it's so hardy and can be so very attractive in the right places, or a real pain in the you know what if you allow it to have its way in the garden, then it smothers everything and is so difficult to eradicate. I have horror stories, but now keep it mainly in pots which I can trim!

Lovely photo Donna - Biltmore is so fabulous to visit, and always with a camera in hand of course!

    Hugs - Mary

  13. I'd love to be sitting on that bench soaking in the warm sunshine. Here it's sunny, but there's no warmth. Beautiful photo.
