Veggie Garden Progress

Uncle Sam needs to get busy and help us with the weeding!
We got enough of a dry period last week to finally get the two vegetable gardens planted! Hooray! In the lower garden (near the back fence), we planted corn, watermelon, and winter squash. In the upper garden (near the kitchen side of the house), we planted tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, summer squash, beans, eggplant, and sunflowers. No sooner than we finished, here came a rain shower, saving us from having to water!

  2. It's been awfully wet this spring here, also. I'm a little worried about the farmers, they can't get their crops in, they're way, way behind!

Our garden should go in sometime this week. We've got lots of tomatoes, (for salsa to can!) and most of the same things you do, except for eggplant.

I hope it does well for you!

  6. Donna, I just read your entry re your knee surgery. I will keep you in my thoughts and pray that all will go well for you this time. I agree it is major surgery but hope you come out the other end with pain free days and a changed life. It must be so hard for you to keep functioning with such pain. All the best.
