Oh Deer!

I have a backlog of several thousand photographs that are waiting for digital processing. Sometimes it’s a little overwhelming to contemplate my ever-growing inventory of images.

So what happens when a doe and two fawns wander into our backyard this afternoon? I take more photos. Through dirty windows, no less. Is there a cure for an itchy shutter-button finger?

One of the fawns carefully investigated the deer block that we put out a week ago. But it never got brave enough to take a nibble. It was too wary. It also didn’t want to cooperate with my impromptu photo session, quickly ambling through shaded or high brush areas.

But the other fawn and its mother wandered about in the yard long enough for me to get a few good photos.

They were so cute!

Okay, that distraction is over. Back to editing the digital backlog…

  1. How precious! You did get some good sharp pics of these deer. When I lived in a remote area near the NC/TN border, we put out salt blocks and even deer corn for the animals. It sure was fun to see them at dusk. Enjoy your evening! Hugs!

  2. Wonderful capture. See how I didn't say "great shot"? ☺ He may not have tasted any today, but he's remembering where he saw it. They'll be back!

  5. Ohhhh these are such good photos! Deer don't stay still for long, so your itchy finger had good timing. Super, thanks for sharing.

  6. Okay... I don't call that dirty windows! Can't even tell it is through a window. Love these shots. I see lots of evidence of deer (mostly of the destroyed plant nature) but rarely see them. These are really pretty pictures.
I take pictures constantly. Not always high quality but I am never without a camera.
