Alaska Trip - Petersburg (Part 4)

One image that I really wanted to get capture during our latest Alaska trip was a good close-up of an eagle. And I started working on this goal as soon as we landed in Petersburg.

When we walked around the harbor area, I noticed a lone, immature eagle stalking out the area. Flying and landing helter-skelter, he teased me mercilessly by staying too far away. The best I could do with the impenitent rascal was to create photos like this one. Drat!

But I continued to watch and wait. Finally, he decided to venture close to me! And I successfully got my close-up shot - while he sat on an ugly, metal light pole. Wouldn’t you know it?

Ah, the joys and heartbreaks of nature photography!

P.S. This is the last post of the Petersburg series, but there will be more Alaska photos highlighted in the future.
