The wayward shoes have returned! As you may recall, they scampered to parts unknown during my Canadian trip last month. I was certain that I had left them in our Winnipeg hotel room before we flew to Churchill. However, I checked with the hotel staff after we returned from Churchill, and they insisted that the housekeeping staff never saw them.
My shoes were merely three days old when we parted. I wear shoes for years and years, and I consider it a splurge when I buy a new pair. They were incredibly comfy and purchased on sale. I wasn’t a happy camper, but I resigned myself to the loss. No big deal. Easy come, easy go. A mere bump in the travel road, so to speak.
And then, I got an e-mail from the tour company the day before Thanksgiving, telling me that they had found the wayward shoes! What a nice surprise! Perhaps the mention of my loss to our wonderful guide had something to do with it. I don’t know. But I am grateful that the tour company contacted me and shipped them from Winnipeg. They arrived this past week.
We're reunited and ready for more adventures together...

ReplyDeleteGlad you got your shoes. That's really neat that they bothered to send them back to you... In today's world, that doesn't happen very often.
