This time two years ago, we were heading up to Alaska for a photo safari with Natural Habitat Adventures. We still can’t believe the incredible views and wildlife we saw on that trip. It was truly a dream come true. And it’s no secret that my personal highlight of the itinerary was the time we spent at Brooks Falls photographing brown bears. It wouldn’t take much persuasion for me to pack my bags and go back there time and time again. I will say it loud and proud – I love photographing bears!
So what’s the next best thing to actually being there? Why, it’s watching the bear action on an Internet video cam! That’s right, Brooks Falls now has live cams, and they will be operating through the end of this month. So grab a cold beverage, check out the links below, and enjoy a comfortable armchair journey without TSA security checks, hiking in the rain, and mosquitoes the size of small birds. You may even spot a momma bear and three adorable cubs like I did the other day at the lower river area!
well, at least you can get your fix! :)
ReplyDeleteThe really cool thing about this beautiful picture is you got the bear with her paw up so we can see those claws! Holy Moly!!
ReplyDeleteI found myself spending way too much time watching those live cams.
You know me... I LOVE waterfalls as much as you love photographing bears.... SO--I'd love to go to that place.. AWESOME. Hope you get back there sometime.

ReplyDeleteThis is thrilling to see the bears by a live cam!
Thank you for referring us to the sight.
oh very cool. Thanks for the links.
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh, reminds me of when Dave and I kayaked up a creek in the Inside Passage and saw grizzlies catching salmon for supper.
ReplyDeleteThe video cams were fun to watch, we only saw a bear from a distance on our cruise. I think a photo safari would be a neat trip to take.

Awwww, shucks! I was hoping that he couldn't figure out how to shut down the camera. That was so much fun to listen to him tell more about the bears. I feel ever so much more informed and learned a lot. I did see the twin cubs that are quite a little bit older than the triplets. Thanks for the head's up! (You should have seen me running to get the big PC on after my iPad slipped too low to watch...then I tried the Kindle Fire...also too low. Anyway, I've been here awhile now so will wander off.)
ReplyDeleteChris Morgan...I'll try to remember his name.
