Prayers for Mr. Jim

Kantishna Roadhouse, Denali National Park, Alaska

I know a whole lot of people are praying for Mr. Jim today, as he undergoes surgery for removing pancreatic and duodenal cancers. And we greatly appreciate it too! We’ll be at the University of Tennessee Medical Center this morning at 6 a.m. Surgery is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. and will last 4 to 6 hours.

(I hope to add a post-surgery update after I get back home late tonight.)

P.S. at 10:30 p.m. - It's been a very long day. The surgery took six hours, and he was in recovery for over four hours. The recovery phase delay occurred because of suspected bleeding, and further tests and consultations were made. And I couldn't see him in ICU for over two hours because of visiting restrictions. He did well through the surgery and is now getting personal care in ICU.

That's all that I will share for the time being. Thank you for all of your good wishes and prayers. I expect my days will be long for a while, but I will check messages via my iPad whenever I can.

  1. Oh yes dear Donna, we are thinking of, and praying for, Mr. Jim today! Hoping all goes well during his surgery, that they do a fine job, and that Jim's recuperation goes smoothly and better health is in the very near future.

Take care of you too dear.........this is going to be a tough time I know. Hanging out at hospitals is no fun and very tiring.

Love you both - hugs, Mary

P.S. Please keep us updated if and when time permits, we care.
