Goodbye, Wordless Wednesday - Hello, Photo of the Week

Cabot Trail, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada

I’ve decided to do a breakaway and take a different road. I’m quitting the Wordless Wednesday theme.

Ah, don’t be sad. It’s all good! I love the idea of a weekly post that features a gallery-type photo that I want to share with my readers. It’s a regular task that helps to hone my skills. I also love to publish an easy, quick post, without a lot of writing effort.

But sometimes I have a few words that really need to be said about my image. And there’s also a desire for me to be an individual, without relying upon an established blogging meme.

I briefly contemplated some clever names for this new, weekly enterprise. But I kept ruling out anything complex or with cheesy undertones. Though my photography may be complex, I’m a simple kind of gal.

So forget the hype. My new weekly theme will simply be called Photo of the Week. It will be published on Wednesdays. Why Wednesdays, you ask? Well, why not? That schedule has worked well for me, and I think most folks need a little boost of eye candy or inspiration mid-week.

So there you go. I hope you enjoy…

  1. Ah, the beautiful Cabot Trail. It's been 30 years since I've seen it and it's only a long day's drive away. Another vacation spot for my bucket list. When hubby retires. This is a beautiful photo Donna. There is mystery and a gorgeous view around every turn, even in the fog. Have a great day.

  2. The Cabot Trail is one that I have heard about all my life...literally. I have never seen it. My grandparents would say to be certain that when traveling it to be on the inside lane as I believe you are. I'm pretty sure that I would be an "inside lane" gal myself. Your photo is magnificent as always. I hope that the fog lifted that day so you could see even more.

  10. Sounds good to me since I am and probably never will be a good follower! :D I have a quote on one wall in my studio that says, "In a world where you can be anything... BE YOURSELF!" Fits pretty well into my life :D And that photo takes my breath away while reminding me of how much I love Nova Scotia when I got the chance to visit it up close and personal :D

  13. Beautiful place - but admit I haven't returned since there in the 1960's. It rained the entire time so the landscape was definitely misty, I do recall that!

My mailbox brought beauty today Donna - thank you so much. Will be in touch soon.
    Hugs - Mary

  16. I remember the Cabot Trail well on our trip out east. The scenery just took our breath away. I've only done a couple of WW without linking to a meme and like you feel some words would be nice to go along with it. Not a lot, just what I feel I want to share.

  19. Is that a painting or a photo? It's hard to tell. Whichever, it is a beautiful scene

    1. It's a photo, but not a very tack-sharp one, that's for sure! I took it while trapped on a moving tour bus that would NOT stop, at all costs. And I was seated a good 3' from the windshield. So if it looks a little bit "painterly," let's just say that I planned it like that, LOL!
