Photo of the Week - Hummingbird on Its Perch

Hummingbirds started arriving in our area last week. One feeder is already out and filled with sugar water for these precious birds. I will plan out some new photo shoots in the months ahead. In the meantime, I dusted off one of my archived files from late September and performed a fresh edit for your enjoyment.

  1. What a beautiful capture, Donna. It's still very cold here for them but they should start arriving in early May. I will have to get my feeders ready soon too. Hugs. Pam

Prayers for you and Jim this morning as always.

  5. Oh Donna...what an awesome shot! The hummers are out here too in all of their glory...I just love them. It's the lack of the ability to photograph these guys and other birds with my p&s that is keeping me longing for that DSLR! One day soon.... :)

  10. Very nice! I can't seem to attract them here. I got a moth that moved like a hummingbird last year. Forgot the name of it.
The intricacy of this photo is just amazing!

  13. Amazing! One time a hummingbird was trapped in my screened porch and I had to pick it up to free him. He was so weak I just walked up to him. I cannot express what magic it was to hold that little creature in my hands. Absolutly beautiful shot!
