I continue to be very busy with household tasks and work associated with the estate. There are times when I wonder if I am every going to catch up. It is rare event when I sit down mid-day in my recliner. But I was able to get my feet up for a rest yesterday afternoon while I was on a donors' conference call with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. And, any time that I am in the recliner, Angel makes sure that she snuggles up.
This iPhone photo is terribly blurry, and it was taken in a dark room. But perhaps you will overlook its technical deficiencies and consider the merits of the subject matter. Isn’t she cute? Her little snaggletooth shows on the right-hand side of her little mouth. Yes, we happened to color-match our clothes, as luck would have it.
I haven’t broken out the big Nikon cameras in months and months. My photo mojo has escaped me at the moment. I imagine that it will be a long time before I can take decent photos of Angel. She moves too quickly and there is nobody around to help me get her staged for photo shoots. So you will have to be content with messy little snapshots of her, now and then, with my iPhone.
I shared this image with Donna in Texas (Made in Heaven) during one of two marathon text-messaging sessions with her yesterday. She insisted that I post the photo here, so that you would know that there are times when I am smiling, despite the emotional pain from losing my sweet Jim.
Miss Donna is a mess – a totally lovable one! She had me smiling a lot during our texting sessions. She has been a tremendous friend over the years. I am so fortunate that she accidentally found my blog right after I started it and kept coming back for more posts and pictures. We hit it off immediately. Oh, and like so many of my blogging friends, I wish mightily that she lived nearby! We could get into so much trouble together – haha!
What a sweet photo, love the fact that you two girls are colour coordinated. I'm glad you have found a good friend in the other Donna and hope you get to meet her in person one day.
ReplyDeleteshe sounds like a treasure (the other donna). :) love your sweet pup, too!
ReplyDeleteDonna, so glad that Angel is there to keep you company and coax the occasional smile.... I'm sure her snuggles are comforting, as is your friendship with Donna. I too hope you two Donnas will meet one day.
ReplyDeleteDonna
ReplyDeleteAngel sounds like such a sweetie. Yes, being colour coordinated is very important-ha!
Your friend Donna is surely a blessing from above.
Take care-Kimberly
Sleeping animals make very good subjects. You did a very good job with the selfie; she sure is cute. Wonderful to have a good friend you can count on...truly a blessing.
ReplyDeletewell I can relate to a little fur baby moving too fast to get a good picture. Angel is adorable and looks like she is totally enjoying your lap.
ReplyDeleteThat is a cute picture of Angel. I'm glad you and your blogging friend Donna are in touch so often. That is so good for you. Blessings to you Donna.
ReplyDeleteAngel is adorable, Donna. Pets are good to snuggle with! Glad for the joy a sweet little angel brings to your home. :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs, Beth
Angel looks very happy snuggled into your arm there. Girls must be color-coordinated! So glad your texting/blogging friend Donna is such an encouragement.
ReplyDeletehugs (and I wish you lived closer, too)
Awwww...now that is a sweet face!! Love that you two dress alike! :) A connection is a fine thing, whether with a furry friend or across the miles. And a smile or two amid sadness must be a bit of help. Hugs...
ReplyDeleteIt really is a sweet photo and makes us all happy to see all the love this little one gives. And how nice to have such a good friend. Love the purple of course....or dark lavender! Sending you both lots of hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteWhat would we ever do without the comfort of our furry children? I think they sense when we need love and are feeling sad. Just sitting and petting them, while we kind of zone out, can be very soothing. I'm glad you have her.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to see your Angel...How wonderful that she is a snuggler! Hats off to you for having marathon texting sessions....It drives me crazy! After a couple back and forth messages I text..."Call me" lol!!! I'm so old school!
ReplyDeleteCarol
my 'two" Donnas. My Two faraway friends...been along time since we all started our blogs...x
ReplyDeleteAngel sure is a cutie! Thank God for our animals..I know petting the soft fur of my kitties and listening to them purr is very soothing to my soul. I'm glad you have such a good friend in Donna! She's a hoot!!
ReplyDeleteYes, Donna is a hoot and I'm glad ya'll are texting :) Angel is a darling and I don't know about others, but iPhone photos are just as good as fancy ones LOL. She looks like she loves you bunches ♥ I'm in the process of bugging Sally until she responds...haven't seen her for a few days. If you text with her, please tell her to hop on FB. I worry about my blogging friends and yes that means you too! ♥
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute picture! Our pets can be such a comfort to us, always there ready and willing to show their unconditional love.
ReplyDeleteAngel looks so much like my neighbor's doggie Chi Chi - she has a deformed little paw but manages to get around well. There was a large hawk circling when they let her out on the deck today - I heard them scampering about to pick her up and take her inside to safety!
ReplyDeleteHope you are safe in the approaching ice storm - we're a bit worried too as without power when it's this bitterly cold would not be fun.
Stay snug - Mary x
Awwwww....! I got lost cleaning those closets and didn't make it onto my blog this weekend...
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet thing to say Miz Donna! Nothing special about me...As you can see, we All love you are are praying everyday for you. You are in a storm right now and that's when pushy friends rush in! Now THAT would be me...Hahaa!
Sending lots of love and hugs to you as always...
(((Hug)))
Angel is adorable and her snaggletooth is endearing...this coming from the "mom" of two pugs with jack-o-lantern teeth. I am glad that you and Donna have formed a nice friendship! xoxo
ReplyDeleteLooks like that little dog has settled right in.
ReplyDeleteI love Angel both for herself and the gift she's given you.
