Photo of the Week - Spring Aspen Along the Snake River

Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming

Aspen trees in the Grand Teton National Park herald the seasons. The trees were decked out in their spring ensemble during my visit in late May. This landscape outlined a vivid contrast between new foliage and the snow-covered mountain peaks. Fog nestled in the distance. Winds were calm, resulting in a clear reflection in the Snake River. It was a vision of silence, tranquility, and natural beauty.

The scene looks cold, and I can attest that it was! It was around 30 degrees. So I was bundled up in a polartec jacket with hood and wearing gloves. But I gave no mind to the chilly temperature because I was so grateful to witness such grandeur.

  7. You captured it beautifully! You weren't too many miles from where I live, near Boise. We vacationed there, and up into Yellowstone, in early May one year. Snow was still piled high on the roadsides in the park. So cold, but so gorgeous!

  8. Another really beautiful capture of that amazing area out West. Donna you really caught it at the right moment and made me sigh. . . . . . wanting to be there again AND with you alongside to help me get such a fantastic photo!!! Well done.

I think you need to have this put on canvas to hang in your pretty house! I could look at it every day.

    Hugs - Mary

  10. What glorious light and color! Your photos are amazing! I'll echo Mary's thoughts about having you alongside to help with photography skills. When we were out on our boat last week, I kept thinking "how would Donna take this shot?" As it turned out, I had my exposures set way too high and most of them are blah. And I'll also echo her thought about putting that photo on canvas to hang in your home.
