Photo of the Week - Boulder Sentinel

Potash Road, Moab, Utah

This area outside of Moab is a favorite for rock climbers and photographers. There are even some ancient petroglyphs along the scenic byway. The stark landscape looks like another world. So it isn’t surprising that it has served as a backdrop for movies such as "Planet of the Apes."

  1. Beautiful! I've never traveled far enough west to see landscapes such as that... so I always enjoy seeing your photos. Do you have a favorite lens for landscapes?

    1. Thank you! My favorite Nikon lens is the 18-300mm. For Fuji, it is the 18-135mm.

  2. Yes, it definitely looks like something you would see in Planet of the Apes! Stunning, though!

  3. Just starkly beautiful! There is an area of Colorado that has red rock formations that are interesting and beautiful too. I've never been to Utah, but what an amazing country we have with all these different landscapes.

  5. It does look other worldly. I could pass visiting there for sure. I like lush and green. I belong in Ireland or something.

  7. Beautiful, Donna. The dry, barren looking rock formations and the water make a striking contrast.

  10. I'm sorry, Donna, that I haven't been here since you posted this gorgeous photo. Don't even ask me why, but it reminds me of when my oldest brother, Mom, a cousin and I travelled through the desert. I can't remember where we were going! :)

    Love you, sweet lady.
