Saying Goodbye to Fall

We never know when Grey Havens, our homestead, will sell. So I have been taking plenty of pictures to remember the seasons. The autumn colors peaked earlier this week, and I captured these images before Friday’s rainfall. It is now a sweet memory.

the view makes the long walk to the mailbox worthwhile!
a colorful chorus line of maple trees strike their pose
goodness, there's a streaker in the chorus line!
the golden foliage on some of the maples provide a great contrast to those with red hues
with tall pines serving as a backdrop, late afternoon sunlight dances on the leaves
I remember when this willow oak in the back yard used to be the size of a stick!
this spectacular maple provides shade for our much-used garden bench

  4. Thank you, Cindy! I got on the blog of the people who have the contingency contract, and they are moaning about having the clean up the house constantly for all of their showings! Haha, I'll take that as a good sign that they are getting a lot of interest in their place!

We will miss the beauty and peacefulness of this lovely homestead. But we won't miss the work to maintain. We're getting too old for this! :-)

  6. Oh my goodness this is so pretty Donna. Everywhere you look is color. I really wish I had the talent to paint because these would make a beautiful painting but I can't even draw a straight line. LOL I'll stick with my camera.

  7. Thank you, Kay, Mrs. Rabe, and Joan! I spent time on the mower this afternoon, mulch over the leaves shown on those maples! Those trees are all naked now! This fall has been the best EVER!

Joan, I wish I could draw a straight line too! The camera works fine for me, LOL! (and you too!)
