House Construction Across the Street (Update)

It’s been a busy week for us with various appointments and personal business. As a result, I am running behind on posting and visiting my blogging friends. But I thought I’d give you a quick update on the construction progress across the street from our cottage. This house is expected to be in the local parade of homes show in late September. So the crew has been cranking on the schedule to make that goal a reality.

The floor plan is the same as ours except that it is a mirror image and the great room has a vaulted ceiling. This design is quite popular, thus the house should sell quickly once it goes on the market. The exterior is rapidly coming together, and half of the shingles are already installed.

The traffic has been especially busy in our little corner of the villa section. Do you see the house to the left in these photos? That’s the one that sold. The new owners moved into it this week and had their closing yesterday. We’ve met the couple already and they are delightful!

That’s a wrap for now. I hope to catch up with blog visiting this weekend!

  1. It's so weird to see stick houses being built. Almost all the new houses that are being built here are concrete block. But for good reason. You never know when a hurricane is going to strike.
Your neighborhood looks so peaceful and friendly. So glad your new neighbors are nice. It makes it that much more pleasant.

  8. As a new reader here at Cottage Days and Journeys, my interest was piqued by this house that is a mirror image of your own, so I had to do a bit of snooping around your blog to see some photos of yours. It is a beautiful house...such gorgeous wood details...a wonderful kitchen...be still my heart!

  9. I remember going through this myself, I was the first house on the block and watched the rest of them go up. It was fun but a bit dirty. They go up fast don't they?

  11. Hi Donna, That house reminded me of the time a few years ago when they built a home RIGHT across the street from us.. We would go over there after-hours and check it out... We had fun 'watching' the changes each day as they built it.

Bet the one across from you will sell quickly --especially since it will be featured as one of the Parade of Homes....

Hope you are having a good weekend. It's raining like cats and dogs here this morning.
    Hugs,
    Betsy
