Hydrangea Blooms at the Greenhouse

I shared a square-cropped version of this photo on my Instagram account. So I thought I would do a quick post and share it here too.

I made a trip to a local greenhouse this past Saturday and picked up the bulk of the herbs and flowers noted on this year’s gardening shopping list. A shopping trip to a big box store in the next few days ought to take care of the rest.

While I was at the greenhouse, I was enthralled with their selection of gorgeous hydrangea plants. I was sorely tempted to buy an armful! We have no room at our current cottage for planting beauties like this, so I contented myself by taking an iPhoto instead.

Gosh, the little iPhone camera sure does a surprisingly great job. Of course, my Photoshop magic can also coax out some vibrant colors and exquisite details in the captured pixels. My motto is that an image isn’t “done” until the digital darkroom editing is complete!

  4. Oh my goodnes...these are gorgeous. Hydrangeas are definitely one of my faves...especially when the blues and the pinks merge, creating those lovely mixed hues. I was at Lowe's the other day and they had some formed into topiaries....beautiful!

  6. Just noticed that you have an 80-400 Nikon Zoom lens. I am looking to buy one in the future. Do you use yours a lot?

  7. Nice job with the IPhone. I have great luck with mine. I am upgrading so I can get all the filters and gizmo apps that are now available for photography that you need a 5S for.
I lost most of my plantings over this horrible winter and Hydrangeas are going to be some of the replacements. Its still to early to plant here. I hope all is as well as it can be on the home front. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

  10. Wonderful Donna. I love hydrangeas. But they are mostly blue, the ones I see.
Though someone i knew was very proud of the fact that he managed to get both pink and blue to grow in his garden at the same time, by changing the ph of the soil, I think.
